Sillimanite Sand

Sillimanite as a natural and untreated mineral is a very important raw material for high alumina refractories. Sillimanite is obtained from high temperature, aluminum-rich vicinity. The industrial uses of sillimanite mineral specially related to their unique chemical and physical properties. High alumina content and lower fe2o3 and LOI contributes to its main chemical properties. Withstanding the high temperatures and pressure the material is highly suitable for refractory and foundry application. Sillimanite is extensively used in Iron and steel, Petrochemical, Electrical, Cement, Zinc and Glass industries, Refractory industry, foundry, Precision investment casting, electrical porcelains, sanitary ware and abrasives.

The sillimanite mineral in raw or calcined form is specially used in manufacturing of refractory bricks, shapes, castings, monolithics, ramming and gunning mixtures.
